Telehealth is defined as the delivery and facilitation of health and health-related services including mental health services, medical care services, mental and physical health education and information services via video conferencing through online and mobile health apps.

Theresa K. Cooke MA, LMSW, LLP is a trained provider of Telehealth services. She offers the same specialized therapies online as in her in person services. A large body of evidence has already been collected and demonstrates Telehealth can provide effective treatment for mental health conditions such as, but not limited to, Behavioral Modification, Cognitive Reframing, Cognitive processing therapy, Improving Communication Skills, Crisis Intervention, Guided Imagery, and Mindfulness Training, Psychodynamic Therapy, Structured Problem Solving, Supportive Reflection, Symptom Management, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Improving coping skills, Relationship skill building, Conflict resolution.

Telehealth can also provide such services as education about mental health conditions and skills and life coaching. Most insurances are now providing the benefit of Telehealth/Telemedicine making mental health services more accessible and convenient to patients in need. Telehealth helps patients avoid the stigma of receiving treatment by allowing sessions from the privacy of home thus giving them an added security and ability to access services especially for those who cannot leave their home due to illness, lack of transportation or lack of childcare or who work unconventional hours, or are temporarily working or staying out of the State of Michigan.
